Christ's Humility and Exaltation

Philippians 2:1-11

2
Chapter 2
1 If therefore there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any compassions and mercies, 2 Fulfill my joy, that you think the same thing, having the same love, like-souled, thinking the one thing. 3 nothing according to selfish ambition nor according to vainglory, but in humility considering one another superior to yourselves, 4 not each considering the things of their own, but each the things of others too. 5 Think this among you, which also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, existing in the form of God, did not consider it a thing to be grasped to be equal to God, 7 but he emptied himself by taking the form of a slave, having become in the likeness of humans; and in appearance found as a human 8 He humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God also greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of heavenly realms and earthly and subterranean, 11 and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
